Kameda retains WBA title against Manakane

Kameda retains WBA title

Kameda successfully defended his title for the fourth time since winning the belt in December 2010, and in doing so extended his career record to 28-1 with 17 knockouts.

The Japanese fighter was unable to take his KO tally up to 18 in this fight, but his dominance throughout the 12-round bout at the Yokohama Arena led to the judges scoring 117-110, 118-110 and 115-113 in his favour.

Manakane's record now reads 24-11-1 (15 KOs).
