Rodgers Omondi was the hero for the newcomers after he struck home in the 67th minute to hand Sharks their third win in the league. Sharks were the better side in opening stages as they dominated a Thika United team that looked disjointed and failed to create chances.
Omondi in particular wasted a number of chances to put Sharks ahead. In the 18th minute, Omondi failed to convert a cross from Ellie Asieche only managing to direct his kick towards keeper Boniface Barasa . Thika United coach James Nandwa was not happy with the team's performance.
"We played very poor today. We never looked dangerous, never created chances and also our backline was not quick enough to stop Sharks going ahead. We must wake up now and start winning matches. It was a match we deserved to get something from it but now we have lost both points."
