Kate Spade is quintessentially two things: joyful and rooted in the culture of New York City.

The Spring 2024 collection aims to be no different. Clothes are laced with fun and bright details, like a creamy cardigan with oversized pearls for clasps or an all-white sequin set. Sculptural rosettes adorn chokers, belts and the handles of handbags. Accessories like the bucket hat and kitten heels serve well for a day spent in the city. For Senior Vice President and Head of Design of Leather Goods and Accessories Jennifer Lyu, it was important to imbue items with a feeling of spring, especially its first day.

"We have such strong house codes that we can hone in, but there's also abstractness," Lyu says. When designing a Kate Spade New York collection, "a lot of times, we start with a moment or feeling. So this collection is really capturing that first glimpse of spring in New York City."

"The day when it's 70 degrees all of the sudden but [was] 20 yesterday," Tom Mora, senior vice president and head of design, ready-to-wear and lifestyle categories, jokingly adds. It's something a New Yorker especially can understand.

The vibe for Spring 2024 is relaxed. Silhouettes are flow-y, whether a dress or flouncy raincoat. Colors range from Americana blues and reds to wasabi green. Classic Kate Spade detailing like stripes and checks are reimagined in different sizes, which Mora says was part of playing with house codes. The 1999-born Noel print — which spells "K.S." with geometric lettering — is revived for next spring and reimagined on purses, letterman jackets and more.

"We love that juxtaposition of the beauty of all the flowers," Mora says, referencing florals throughout the collection, "juxtaposed to the grittiness of the subway, the concrete and the bricks. It's really that feeling, that excitement and optimism, you feel. It's a sense of relief when you're like, 'oh my God, I get to go outside in something other than a puffer coat.'"

The clothes should embody the feeling of the renaissance each spring brings, Mora and Lyu say. For the Kate Spade customer sitting outside in a café or walking in the rain, here's a whimsical wardrobe to bring out the joy. Keep scrolling to see every look from Kate Spade's Spring 2024 collection.
