Corden and Perry sang a couple of the pop star’s more popular songs, “Firework” and “Darkhorse,” and then jumped into the topic of Taylor Swift. The two stars have had a well-documented beef over the past few of years stemming from some backup-dancer drama.
Perry said about Swift: “Honestly, it’s really, like, she started it, and it’s time for her to finish it.” While Perry didn’t seem that interested in mending fences, she did say, “I think, personally, that women together, not divided, and none of this petty sh*t … women will heal the world.”
Jennifer Lopez was also on the show for a popular bit known as “Toddlerography.” In the bit, Corden and Lopez followed the dance moves of small children.
The primetime special was most likely well received as Corden’s popularity continues to grow. Perhaps he will someday make the move to primetime, which he clearly wants — in fact, he performed a song about it on the special.
The Late Late Show With James Corden airs weeknights at 12:37 a.m. on CBS.
