League 1 leaders Keighley Cougars have been awarded a 48-0 victory over London Skolars following their cancelled clash over the weekend.

The match, which was scheduled to take place on Saturday, was called off 18 hours before it is due to start at the New River Stadium. The Skolars were unable to provide adequate medical cover under the RFL’s Operational Rules.

Keighley were entering the clash having won all 12 of their games so far this season.

Meanwhile, London were hoping for their fourth win of the season. That could have seen them go above Oldham in the League 1 table.

Keighley had defeated West Wales Raiders 86-0 the week prior, and 62 points against Oldham. They have scored 579 points in 12 games.

The Rugby Football League added in a statement that ‘RFL Compliance will now consider what further action might be taken’.
