Kempton each-way racing tip: Oisin Murphy booked to bring the best out of Oman
Oman was a 140,000 guineas purchase in the Book 1 Tattersall's yearling sale back in 2019, and he has shown plenty of ability throughout his career, winning a one-and-half-mile maiden (postmarking 91) and a 14.5 furlong handicap off 87. He was tried over hurdles for a couple runs in December before being sold on and leaving Alan King's yard in a recent horses-in-training auction. Dual-purpose owner/trainer Ian Williams bought him and gave him a recent outing over one and a half miles, but he failed to sparkle, which might have been partly due to the removal of his usual blinkers.
Today they step him up to what appears to be a more suitable two-mile trip, as well as applying a visor for only the second time. This move may well spark a revival, especially with a resurgent Oisin Murphy booked to ride, while Oman's mark of 85 looks more than workable.
The 28/1 opening price was far too big for this five-year-old's chances, and although those odds have inevitably dropped, the each-way value holds for anything above 14/1, and I recommend a point each way.
