Kevin Garnett's inspirational message spurs Celtics to victory

Kevin Garnett won a championship for Boston in 2008. In 2017, he's doing all he can to get the Celtics back in the hunt for the title.

The Celtics were booed off the court by their own fans after their loss in Game 2 to Chicago Tuesday. They needed some help to get back going after an emotional week saw them start the series down 0-2.

They got they help from Tom Brady via Instagram, but also via voice message from former Celtics champion Kevin Garnett.

The 2008 NBA Champion, who finished third in MVP voting that season, left an inspirational message for Isaiah Thomas prior to Game 3. The Celtics MVP candidate was not going to keep something like that to himself.

The Celtics went on to win Friday night's game 104-87 over Chicago and now are down just one game before they take on the Bulls in Game 4 Sunday night. If they can win that one the series is even at 2-2, and Rajon Rondo is out for the Bulls.
