Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall sends classy message to Leicester City star after injury blow

Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall has sent a classy message of support to former teammate and Leicester City star Abdul Fatawu following news of his season-ending injury.

Chelsea travel to the King Power Stadium to face Leicester this weekend in the first of many games across the festive period. It's the first time that Enzo Maresca will face his former side after moving to Stamford Bridge in the summer.

Dewsbury-Hall followed the Italian to west London after playing a huge part in helping Leicester return to the Premier League. The midfielder hasn't featured in the Premier League since the 3-0 win over West Ham in September and has been left out of five of the previous six matchday squads.

However, the 26-year-old is likely to be in attendance in Leicester this weekend to meet some of his former teammates and staff. One player who won't be there to greet him is Fatawu, who will miss the rest of the season due to an ACL injury.

The winger's injury was confirmed on Thursday by Steve Cooper, handing the Foxes a blow in their hopes of staying in the Premier League. Following the news of the Ghanaian's setback, he wrote on Instagram: "*praying emoji* *fist emoji* will be back stronger *tensed arm emoji*."

Alongside a number of messages from the likes of former Chelsea midfielder Michael Golding, Dewsbury-Hall sent his condolences to the forward on the post. "Speedy recovery mate, all the best," he wrote.

Maresca has expressed his excitement at returning to Leicester, revealing he remains in contact with some of the players he led to the Championship title last season. "First of all, excited and also thankful because it was a fantastic season," he said when asked about returning to the King Power Stadium.

"I met people that are very difficult to find in football; the owner, his family, they are fantastic human beings. They care for the players, the staff, all of the people who work inside the club. You can see that.

"It was a fantastic season because I met good people and then in terms of players, it was top, it was fantastic. It was a fantastic connection between the players and the staff. This is something you need to create and I will be thankful for all of my life to that squad.

"Most of them, I am still in contact with them so there is still a connection. For me, it was a fantastic season."
