King Tut’s Wah Wah Hut Summer Nights festival to return - what you need to know
MUSIC fans can expect 27 days of fresh Scottish talent on show as King Tut’s Wah Wah Hut Summer Nights returns in July and August.
Now in its 9th year, the grassroots music festival begins on Thursday, July 13 with Cara McBride and runs through until Saturday, August 26 with Theta.
Organisers say 100 acts are set to perform this year including Indie, Pop, Rock and Folk artists.
A number of well-known artists, including Oasis and Paolo Nutini, started out by playing at King Tut’s Summer Nights in previous years.
The organisers of the 300-capacity venue have said that “the festival really is the place to find your next favourite artist” and “a chance to see the icons of tomorrow start their journeys”.
Opened in 1990, the celebrated music venue on St Vincent Street was awarded Ticketmaster’s Indie Venue of the Year in 2022.
Meg Denholm, booker of King Tut's Summer Nights, said: “We’re absolutely buzzing to announce this year’s King Tut’s Summer Nights festival. With over 100 acts playing across our seven weeks of summer, KTSN 2023 will once again show how strong Scotland’s local music scene is.”
