Kings' Trevor Ariza to miss remainder of preseason after back procedure

The Kings are going to be without one of its newest acquisitions for the rest of the preseason.

Sacramento announced Trevor Ariza underwent a procedure on his back to remove a lipoma. He is expected to miss the team's two remaining preseason games and will be reevaluated on Oct. 16.

Ariza scored five points in 21 minutes in the Kings' 105-88 preseason win over the Suns on Thursday. The 15-year veteran signed a two-year, $25 million deal with Sacramento in the offseason.

He averaged 12.5 points, 5.4 rebounds and 3.7 assists per game with the Suns and Wizards last season.

The Kings face the Jazz on Monday at 9 p.m. ET in their last preseason game before opening the season against the Suns on Oct. 23.
