Kittel takes sprint

Eurosport

The 23-year-old from 1t4i beat Norwegian Alexander Kristoff to the line at the end of the 216km trek from Zottegem to Koksijde.

However the Katusha rider had the consolation of taking over the leader's jersey from stage one winner Peter Sagan.

Kristoff and Jacopo Guarnieri (Astana) are on the same time on GC, heading into Thursday's final day which sees a 112km road stage in the morning followed by a 14.7km time trial in the afternoon

Jonathan Breyne, Brian Vandborg and Andy Cappelle formed the break of the day on stage two and built up a lead of over seven minutes with the latter only being caught in the final kilometres.
