Kiwi media calls for inclusion of 'experienced' McCullum, Taylor in series against Sri Lanka

Wellington, Nov 2 (ANI): The New Zealand media has called for the inclusion of captain Brendan McCullum and top-order batsman Ross Taylor in the squad for the series against Sri Lanka to score 'precious runs' for the country especially after the latest beatings in Bangladesh. According to Stuff.co.nz, eighth-ranked New Zealand does not perform well enough consistently to have the luxury of having two of their highest-paid professionals, McCullum and Taylor, leaving for home despite the decision to have them prepare for the West Indies Test series in a domestic Plunket Shield setting. The report said that both McCullum and Taylor are needed in the heat and humidity of Sri Lanka in order to battle against the bowling wiles of the island nation, adding that McCullum and Taylor are capable of changing gears from the one-day game to the Test arena as they have a large amount of international experience. The report further said that the duo should not be exhausted from their efforts in Bangladesh as both of their stays at the crease were brief, adding that their experience should be used to help give credibility to a New Zealand side, which is not treating their opponents with much respect.
