Knighthead have made an investment that could aid Birmingham City's transfer drive
Knighthead could be about to make Birmingham City even more data-driven after acquiring Real Analytics.
Real Analytics is an Artificial Intelligence powered platform designed to help football clubs make more informed decisions on scouting, recruitment, playing strategy and opposition analysis. Blues’ owners Knighthead have taken control of Real Analytics and Tom Wagner’s confidants Laura Torrado, Kyle Kneisly and Federico Segura are listed as directors on its Companies House.
Blues have made an effort to become more data-led on Knighthead’s watch and used analytics to help them sign 17 new players during the summer transfer window to suit manager Chris Davies’ style of play. Premier League clubs Brentford and Brighton have enjoyed success from adopting a similar model.

On its website, Real Analytics states: “Unlike descriptive statistics available in the market, the Real Analytics platform provides access to cutting edge analytics, as a proprietary algorithm rates every single action in a match based on how much it contributes to the team's performance. We work with the world's most forward thinking clubs in the world's biggest leagues.”
Their website provides its clients with eight features: Player profile, squad analysis, advanced player search, compare players, similar player search, player impact, match prediction and GBE points calculator.
