Komphela: Twala has come alive for Kaizer Chiefs

Goal spoke to the Amakhosi gaffer about the speedy winger, who has mostly been used as an impact player in recent times

Kaizer Chiefs coach Steve Komphela says William Twala has come in leaps and bounds for the club.

“His game has grown. He gives you lots of energy and every time we introduce him, there’s that spark that he brings,” Komphela told Goal .

The former Orlando Pirates winger joined Amakhosi during the 2016 January Transfer Window from Chippa United.

“There were instances where he was starting and he went on. But his game dropped a bit. I think he has come alive now,” he said.

The 27-year-old winger came off the bench over the weekend against SuperSport United and he assisted with the equalizer which was scored by Ramahlwe Mphahlele.

“He is at the level where I think if he starts will give you exactly what you need when coming on as a substitute. He helps a lot more especially cutting in from the side,” Komphela said.

“He can give you a goal from cutting inside, something he did especially at Chippa United. He would give you a goal and supply for you whenever he comes in.

“He has that effect that you know he will give you something,” Komphela concluded.
