Kreder win in rainy Angers

The Garmin-Barracuda rider won a brisk 87.8km stage that was overshadowed by a crash in rainy conditions towards the finish that claimed the GC leader Denis Galimzyanov (Katusha).

An early breakaway by David Le Lay (Saur Sojasun) and Pierre Rolland (Europcar) proved unsuccessful, and Kreder won a bunch sprint ahead of Sacha Modolo and Sonny Colbrelli (both Colnago-CSF).

Modolo took over the GC lead from Galimzyanov, with Mikhail Ignatiev (Katusha) second on the same time.

The race continues with a time trial around the streets of Angers on Wednesday afternoon.
