Kyle Walker put the boot into Manchester United by posting a brutal poem on Twitter, before quickly deleting it.

Walker’s post followed Man City’s 3-1 derby win over their crosstown rivals. Goals from David Silva, Sergio Aguero and Ilkay Gundogan saw City extend their lead over United to 12 points from just 12 games.

The win also saw City restore their two point cushion over Liverpool at the top of the table.

A host of City stars took to social media to express their delight at the Blues’ statement win, but Walker’s post was soon removed.

The fullback tweeted:

“Our opponent was red,

“We heard the away fans boo,

“We’re twelve points ahead,

“And just like violets, Manchester is blue.”

Despite the win, Guardiola has refused to get carried away with City’s title chances.

Guardiola said: “Two points, four points from Chelsea is nothing.

“Man City, Liverpool, Chelsea, Arsenal, Tottenham, they have numbers to be champion. Not just Man City.

“We are just two points in front, it’s nothing. It’s true, last season we didn’t get points at Anfield, we drew. Last season we lost here (against United), we won. So it’s good.

“For the contenders, four games, three away, one at home, and we got results. But at the end, the three points, the only difference is that it’s against a contender.”

Manchester United now have two weeks to lick their wounds before hosting struggling Crystal Palace on November 24, while City will hope to remain top when they travel to West Ham.
