Kyogo Celtic transfer price tag 'revealed' as Manchester City told to stump up
Celtic have reportedly slapped a £20million price tag on Kyogo's head as they told Manchester City their striker won't come cheap.
The Japanese international emerged as a shock transfer target for the Premier League champions this week as Pep Guardiola seeks a replacement for £82m Julian Alvarez who recently joined Atletico Madrid. Guardiola is believed to see the 29-year-old as a strong backup to superstar Erling Haaland after watching him score vs City in pre-season.
Urawa Red Diamonds were interested in taking Kyogo back to Japan earlier this year but a move down south could potentially appeal more to the player.
And the Daily Mail now report that the Hoops would be looking for a significant fee for the attacker who remains contracted until 2027 which means Celtic are still in a strong position despite the player's age.
He has hit 73 goals in 135 games and won seven major honours but the City interest comes after Celtic spent £8.5million plus on Adam Idah from Norwich City.
And they are still in the market for a new striker regardless of Kyogo's plans.
