Kyrie Irving, James Harden to miss Game 5 against Bucks with injuries

Kevin Durant may have to put in a lot of work for the Brooklyn Nets in Game 5 on Tuesday against the Milwaukee Bucks. Guard Kyrie Irving will not play in the contest due to an ankle injury, Steve Nash announced Monday.

On top of that, James Harden, who left Game 1 with a hamstring injury, will also miss the contest.

The news comes at a tough time for the Nets. After jumping out to a 2-0 lead in the series, Brooklyn has dropped its last two games to Milwaukee. The series is now tied 2-2. Game 5 is Tuesday at 8:30 p.m. ET on TNT. Whichever team wins will be a win away from advancing to the conference finals against the winner of the Philadelphia 76ers-Atlanta Hawks series.

Kyrie Irving played significant role vs. Bucks

Prior to the injury, Irving was putting up strong numbers against the Bucks. He scored at least 22 points in each of the first three games in the series. Irving was on pace for another excellent performance in Game 4 before exiting the contest in the second quarter due to a right ankle sprain. He finished the game with 11 points.

With Harden out since the first minute of Game 1, Durant has carried the offensive load for the Nets. Durant is averaging 29.8 points and 9.3 rebounds in the series against the Bucks.
