LA LIGA: Who are the current top 10 outfield players in the Spanish top flight according to the stats?

The best players in Europe have been doing their all to qualify for Euro 2016 this week – but the bread and butter of domestic football returns in a few days.

But who are the best players? The ones in the national teams or the ones supporters like best?

Or are they are the ones who are the most in-form according to the stats?

Yahoo Sport reveals the current top 10 outfield players in La Liga according to Opta Stats in collaboration with the CIES Football Observatory.

[WHO ARE THE CURRENT TOP 10 OUTFIELD PLAYERS IN THE PREMIER LEAGUE?]

Each player who completes more than 60 minutes for his team is given a mark based on “rigour” (that’s hard work and tackling), “recovery”, “distribution”, “take-on”, “chances created” and “goals scored” to get an overall mark out of 100.

Some of the results – as ever with stats-only based ratings – are surprising while others are not so.

These marks are based on the last set of La Liga matches only.
