La Liga Leaks: Man Utd to make €120m Pogba bid + interest in James? “0% chance” Neymar joins Real Madrid

The biggest news story - which doesn’t involve Brexit - comes from AS, as they report Manchester United are willing to offer up to €120m to secure Paul Pogba’s return to the club. Jose Mourinho has personally asked for everything possible to be done to sign the explosive midfielder and that has caused quite the stir at his former club, Real Madrid.

The potential bidding war with United has put off Madrid off making a bid this summer as they already believe the asking price to be too high. Another problem for Zinedine Zidane’s side is the fact Pogba wants a €12-per-season deal which would put him ahead of the salaries Sergio Ramos and Gareth Bale currently earn. If that happened it could cause huge problems in the dressing room’s hierarchy.

As it stands Real Madrid wouldn’t enter in a bidding war for Pogba and that means if the Frenchman does decide to leave Juventus in the next couple of months he’s left with just one option: Manchester United.

Sticking with AS it seems that James Rodriguez hasn’t convinced Zidane during his short reign at the club and the French coach is willing to let him go this summer in order to bring in new recruits. Towards the end of the season he lost his role as a substitute with Lucas Vazquez being preferred to him. Mourinho likes the player and thinks he could get the maximum out of the Colombian international. There is a problem, however, as club president Florentino Perez is big fan of James and wants him to be given another chance to prove himself - but he’ll need to convince Zidane first.

Neymar’s father has been talking to ‘FOX Sports Brasil’ and left it quite clear that his son’s immediate future was at Barcelona. “Neymar’s owned by Barcelona. Any offer that arrives has to go through Barcelona. He has a contract with them and has two years left on it. Neymar is very happy.” When asked about the possibilities of Neymar ending up at Real Madrid he said, “The possibility of that happening is zero.“

Over in Valencia, Plazadeportiva confirm Shkodran Mustafi has been offered to Napoli as part of the deal to sign Raul Albiol. Negotiations between the two clubs have been on-going for weeks and Valencia were willing to part with the German international, who they believe wants to leave the club this summer, in exchange for a respectable transfer fee plus Albiol. As yet no agreement has been reached but a spanner in the works could be Mustafi’s reluctance to move to Napoli.

Mustafi didn’t have the greatest of seasons last time out but no one doubts the quality he possesses, as proven in Germany’s first match at Euro 2016 against Ukraine. He’s said to be concerned by the club’s dramatic fall in recent months and internally the club are braced for his exit. However he isn’t sold by Napoli and believes bigger and better sides will make offers for him after the Euros. Juventus are said to be interested after being rebuffed in their attempts to sign Valencia teammate Andre Gomes.

Other news and rumours:

Hatem Ben Arfa is looking at moves “abroad” and that puts Sevilla in pole position to sign the talented Frenchman.

• Gabriel Jesus, who is being tracked by Barcelona, is said to be a target of Real Madrid as well now.

• Liverpool have rejected a bid from Celta Vigo for Joe Allen. They want €13m for him, who is also a target for Sevilla.
