La Liga Leaks: Morata heading to the EPL + Banega confirms Sevilla exit but what about Emery?

With domestic duties wrapped up in Spain – although there is the small matter of an all Spanish Champions League final to be contested – a lot of the media outlets are turning their attentions to the comings and goings for next season. Here are the stories making the rounds this morning.

MARCA and AS lead with the story that Real Madrid WILL activate the option to buyback Alvaro Morata from Juventus. The deal could be confirmed as soon as next week, after the Champions League final, because the player’s agent is scheduled to meet with Madrid then. The main issue is whether Morata will stay on at the club or be immediately sold for a large profit.

AS believe the priority at the moment is to re-sell Morata, most likely to a side in the Premier League. Arsenal, Manchester City and Chelsea have all been credited with an interest in the Spanish international, as too have PSG. All of those clubs are able to offer him a huge increase in wages, plus more guaranteed minutes, but the ultimate decision will come from Florentino Perez.

Sandro Ramirez, linked heavily with a move to Tottenham Hotspur last summer, will be allowed to leave on a free transfer. Barcelona’s director of football confirmed that the club hadn’t taken up the option to extend the player’s deal an extra 12 months due to how well he’s behaved despite very limited first team football this season.

Ever Banega confirmed to BeIN Sports that he is leaving Sevilla this summer. “It’s sad but we need to make decisions in our lives. Sometimes they’re the right ones, other times they aren’t. It was hard to make this decision because I’ve grown accustomed to this club; it’s like a family.” Banega is widely expected to join Inter Milan on a free transfer but a €1.2m fee will given as a goodwill gesture because the player activated a year extension (due to games played) after signing a pre-contract agreement with Inter.

Another player who could be abandoning La Liga this summer, if rumours are to believed, is Valencia’s Andre Gomes. “At this moment, and I’m going to be very frank, I’m not worried about what is going to happen.” He’s been strongly linked with a move to Manchester United, with incoming coach Jose Mourinho a big fan of his, as well as Juventus in recent weeks. When pressed further about his future he said, “If you ask the president you’ll probably get a better answer than mine. I don’t know what is going to happen but nor am I worrying about it either.” Andre Gomes has a buyout clause of €100m but Valencia would listen to offers around the €65m mark according to Superdeporte.

In Mundo Deportivo they believe Marc Bartra is wanted by Valencia. The young centre half, named in Spain’s Euro 2016 squad, is once again experiencing itchy feet as Luis Enrique continues to overlook him. There have been conversations with Premier League clubs but the player would prefer to stay in Spain for personal reasons.

One player who doesn’t appear to be leaving this summer is Atletico Madrid’s Koke. He spoke to Onda Cero radio about various topics but shot down any possibility he could leave in the near future. “Being at Atleti is the best thing there is. Atleti is special. I’m not looking for more money, I’m happy where I am, at home and playing for the team I’ve supported since I was a little boy. How could I leave?”

It seems Malaga’s decision to buy the full economic rights to Ignacio Camacho hasn’t done anything to dampen the interest in the combative midfielder. Valencia remain interested in bringing him to replace the outgoing Javi Fuego while over in England, Leicester and Liverpool are both keen on adding him to their ranks. At the moment no offer has been made for Camacho from any club.

Unai Emery continues to be mentioned as one of the front-runners for the job at Everton but the current Sevilla chief tried to downplay it during yesterday’s celebrations. When asked specifically about the interest from Everton he didn’t hesitate to respond: “I’m very happy at Sevilla.” Over in England they are certain he will be given an interview next week, but AC Milan’s new Chinese owners also want him. Decisions, decisions.

And finally.. it looks like Real Betis have a fight on their hands to keep hold of Chelsea youngster Charly Musonda next season. In the six-month loan deal agreed back in January, an option for an extension was included should Betis stay up and all parties were happy for it to continue. After making a huge impression in his short spell in Spain, interest in the winger has increased and according to Estadio Deportivo, AS Roma are the latest to offer a proposal to Roman Abramovich.
