Lady Maroons slug way to road victory over Wayne

Mar. 19—Attempting to bounce back from their first loss of the season, albeit a close one to Mercer County, the Lady Maroons hit the road again on Monday to take on the Wayne County Lady Cards. This one was over in a hurry too, as nearly every batter recorded an RBI in a 23-4 demolition for Pulaski County.

Claire Hamilton recorded five RBI's in the victory while leading her team with four hits. Bella Ellis recorded four RBI's on one swing of the bat with a grand slam. Ryann Sowder also swung for the fences on a home run to go along with three RBI's, with Brooklyn Thomas and Shelbie Sellers also hitting three RBI's apiece. Maggie Gregory had two RBI's, with Novaleigh Baker and Chloe Carroll each contributing one. Rilee Ross, despite not contributing an RBI, did go 2-4 from the plate with a double. Ellis earned the win on the mound, going the full four innings allowing two earned runs on five hits while walking two and striking out five.

Pulaski improves to 4-1 and will host Madison Southern on Tuesday before taking on Perry County Central on Saturday morning at 10:30 a.m. in the Brynlee Bigelow Memorial Tournament.
