Lady Tigers honored by state, district

Mar. 29—The Tahlequah Lady Tigers had a trio of players honored by District 5A-3 and two players given All-State honors.

Senior Air Force commit Kori Rainwater was named District Player of the Year after winning Metro Lakes Conference Player of the Year.

Forward and Northeastern State commit Jadyn Buttery earned a spot on the All-District First Team. Three-point shooter Talyn Dick earned a spot on the All-District Second Team.

After leading the Lady Tigers to a 24-3 record, David Qualls earned his fifth Coach of the Year Award.

This season, the Lady Tigers picked up wins in the Tiger Invite, Mother Road Classic and District Title.

Buttery and Rainwater were also named to the Oklahoma Girls Basketball Coaches Association Large School All-State Team.
