Laila Ali on Ronda Rousey’s Loss: ‘It’s Obvious Who the Better Fighter Was’

Laila Ali, the daughter of boxing royalty Muhammad Ali, retired from boxing undefeated. The former two-division world boxing champion was recently asked by TMZ Sports her opinion on Ronda Rousey‘s knockout loss to Holly Holm at UFC 193.

“Didn’t shock me,” she said. “I’m familiar with Holly Holm. She’s a talented boxer. She’s a world champion. She has an MMA background and obviously she’s no chump. I’m excited for her and hopefully she’ll get the exposure that she needs to take her career to the next level.”

Holm demolished Rousey with her striking and ended the fight with a head kick early in the second round.

“It’s obvious who the better fighter was,” said Ali.

Ali isn't a fan of having Rousey rematch Holm. She believes the rematch would play out like UFC 193 did, if not worse.

“In order to be the best in the world, you definitely don’t ever get beat up like that in your prime. Period,” said Ali. “I don’t think she should have a rematch with Holly Holm because I think it will go the same way the second time, probably worse.”
