Lakers, Clippers, Bucks highlight reported NBA Christmas Day schedule

With the NBA season slated to tip off just days before Christmas, the league has put together its traditional holiday schedule packed with games all Christmas Day, ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski reports.

The five-game slate will feature many of the league’s best teams and biggest stars while providing early looks at some of basketball’s most-anticipated revamped lineups.

Something to watch in every game

The New Orleans Pelicans will tip the day off against the Miami Heat with a rebuilt roster around Zion Williamson and Brandon Ingram that will now feature Eric Bledsoe and George Hill after a November trade with the Milwaukee Bucks.

That trade sent Jrue Holiday to the Milwaukee Bucks, where he will line up alongside Giannis Antetokounmpo to take on the Golden State Warriors and lottery pick James Wiseman in the second game of the day.

The third game on Christmas will provide an early look at the long-anticipated debut of Kevin Durant alongside Kyrie Irving in a Brooklyn Nets uniform. The game will act as a homecoming of sorts for Irving against his former teammates in a road matchup with the Boston Celtics.

Luka Doncic and LeBron James will face off on Christmas Day.

The fourth game will feature a pair of MVP favorites in Luka Doncic and LeBron James when the Dallas Mavericks visit the champion Los Angeles Lakers.

The nightcap will provide a rematch of the Denver Nuggets’ stunning second-round playoff upset of the Los Angeles Clippers.

If it seems like the 2019-20 NBA season just ended, it’s because it did. The NBA’s doing a good job of drumming up interest in a new season with an exciting slate of Christmas Day games.
