Lakers to wait until February deadline before making a move?
Jovan Buha: Based on the intel that has come out of the Lakers side, intel around the organization, intel just from third parties, it seems to be that this is going to be a situation that drags into January if not closer to that February 6th trade deadline. The Lakers might have some incentive to make a trade sooner than later but that doesn't necessarily mean the team that they are trading with has that same incentive. And a lot of these teams again as I mentioned want to see 30, 35, 40 games with their groups to decide which players are keepers, which players are expendable, and how do we value these guys. Then once trades start to happen the market gets set, and you you don't want to be the first team necessarily to make a deal. Gabe Vincent

Jovan Buha: The Lakers have a frontcourt issue and I think it's gotten to the point where it should be of greater priority for them depending on what happens with Jaxson Hayes in his timetable. He did arrive to the game last night in a walking boot though he did tell ESPN that he is optimistic as to being on the shorter end of that one-to-two week timetable. At the same time with the Christian Wood news and the continued non- updates with Jarred Vanderbilt in just the recent history with Gabe Vincent, Kendrick Nunn, etc. I'm a bit skeptical of Jaxson Hayes potentially coming back sooner than later. -via YouTube / November 15, 2024
Ja Morant's memory is precise when it comes to the Los Angeles Lakers. He remembers the feeling of being put out by the Lakers in the 2023 playoffs, and he remembers standing on the bench injured last season while LeBron James through down a windmill dunk. All of that factored into the edge Morant played with in the Grizzlies' 131-114 victory on Wednesday night at FedExForum. "I don't like them," Morant said of the Lakers. Morant pulled out the "too little" gesture after scoring over Gabe Vincent in the second quarter. Seconds later, James returned the favor after using his strength to knock Morant to the floor and score over the smaller guard. -via Memphis Commercial Appeal / November 7, 2024
Mike Trudell: JJ Redick said LeBron and AD are in. Gabe Vincent, Max Christie, Cam Reddish will be on a minutes limit. Austin Reaves is out. Redick said he has a bit of ankle soreness and they thought it’d be good to get him a game to rest. -via Twitter @LakersReporter / October 10, 2024
