Lambert confirms Ikeme could miss the rest of the season for Wolverhampton Wanderers

The Super Eagles goalkeeper has acknowledged the input of the outgoing defender after eight years at Molineux Stadium

Carl Ikeme could miss the rest of the season, Wolverhampton Wanderers manager Paul Lambert has confirmed.

The goalkeeper has been out of action since sustaining an hamstring injury while on international duty with Nigeria.

Lambert stopped short of saying Ikeme definitely will not play again this term, but admitted it was a possibility.

Speaking to The Express about his fitness he said: "He'll definitely be out at Leeds. I'm not sure if he'll be back this season, it's not one where I'm thinking 'he's going to make it'. I'm not sure."

Ikeme has played a key role for Lambert’s side this season, playing 31 games in all competitions.
