Lanark Amateur Swimming Club stars medal in Dumfries with West District displays
Eleven Lanark swimmers competed in Dumfries at The West District short course swimming championships last weekend, taking home a host of medals.
On the Sunday, the seniors were in action. Evi Mackie (15) won five golds from five swims, of which four were new club records; 200m backstroke, 50m breaststroke, 50m, 200m and 800m freestyle.
Craig Shaw (16) won the 50m breaststroke and was third in the 100m butterfly.

Personal best times were posted by Clara McMahon, Erin Purdon, Erin Lammie. Blair Beverley and Malcolm Ormrod.
The juniors competed 24 hours earlier on the Saturday and Emily Taylor (12) won the 200m butterfly and 1500m freestyle, whilst also finishing second in both the 100m backstroke and 200m IM.
Lucy Taylor won three bronze medals; 200m butterfly, 100m backstroke and 200m IM.
Coach Karen Kelly was delighted with the displays and said: “There was some good solid swimming from our swimmers and they can be proud of their efforts. Lucy won her first ever medals at District level which is always nice to see.
“A swimmer who excelled was Erin Purdon who reeled off four excellent times from her four swims.”
