Raiders RB Josh Jacobs won’t face DUI charges after crash, arrest

Las Vegas Raiders running back Josh Jacobs

Las Vegas Raiders running back Josh Jacobs won’t face DUI charges after he was arrested following a crash earlier this month, according to the Las Vegas Review-Journal.

Jacobs was involved in a single-car accident near McCarran Airport in Las Vegas just before 5 a.m. on Jan. 4, hours after the Raiders’ regular-season finale win against the Denver Broncos, and was arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence.

Upon further investigation, per the report, officials determined that Jacobs’ “blood-alcohol level was below 0.08 within two hours at the time of his driving.” Police were not able to conduct field sobriety tests on site, either, as Jacobs was receiving medical treatment for a “large gash” on his forehead.

He was transported to a local hospital for treatment, and then was released from custody later that day.

Jacobs, 22, now faces a single misdemeanor charge of failure to decrease speed or use due care under certain circumstances.

Jacobs ran for 1,065 yards and 12 touchdowns this season, his second in the league after the Raiders selected him with the No. 24 overall pick in the 2019 draft. The former Alabama standout has two years left on his four-year, $11.9 million deal.
