Latest Celtic transfer news as new keeper 'target' emerges and Owen Beck attracts attention

You might have thought more than enough goalkeeping names had been linked with Celtic this summer.

But another name has reportedly entered the frame to be Joe Hart's replacement between the sticks for the Hoops next season. Yvon Mvogo is currently at Euro 2024 with Switzerland, who take on England in the quarter finals tomorrow, and is contracted to French side Lorient.

But L'Equipe are reporting that, following their relegation to Ligue 2, the 30-year-old will be allowed to move on. And the Hoops are said to be "positioning themselves" to sign the experienced shotstopper, although other sides such as Parma and Nantes are in the race too.

Celts have had a number of reported targets to wear the gloves next season and it's believed Sparta Prague's Peter Vindahl Jensen is the preferred one after Football Scotland exclusively revealed their interest in him. Other names such as Martin Dubravka and Asmir Begovic have been linked and the latter has now been seen training with English non-league side Aldershot Town.

Celtic still need a left-back to compete with Greg Taylor and Owen Beck could be an option after they showed interest in January. But Football Scotland understands the ex-Dundee loanee has moved down their shortlist - as we revealed Birmingham City have made an approach with EFL Championship sides keeping tabs.

The Rocco Vata 'saga' is now over. The teenage winger has snubbed a Hoops contract offer, as well as interest from abroad, to sign on with Watford after weeks of speculation.
