Latest Rangers transfer news as interest remains in two men and asking price 'named'
With the transfer window getting closer to its conclusion, the focus for Rangers is very much on outgoings at the moment.
There are two weeks until the market closes and Gers fans would really like to see their XI and squad improved for the season ahead. But before they do that, they must to ship a few out after manager Philippe Clement reiterated that need with further comments to the press.
"Yes, that's the case," the manager said when asked about that scenario. "Some of them know it already for a really long time and they're still in the building. That makes things more difficult. But it is what it is. I cannot put a gun on their heads to get them out of the building. That's also not the idea.
"It's what I said about all the other things. It's not something I can control. So I don't put any energy in that. All the energy is in the players who are here. The players who will be here. And to get the next result. All the energy is in that."
One who is definitely open to leaving slapping in a transfer request is Todd Cantwell. There hasn't been much in the way of reported interest in the midfielder, 26, but Trabzonspor were one club linked after signing his former teammates Borna Barisic and John Lundstram. Turkish outlet Yomrason Haber is now reporting they are turning their attentions back to Cantwell after missing out on another player and will now intensify their efforts.
Cyriel Dessers has still been starting games for Rangers but still isn't convincing fans and his future isn't certain. There have been plenty of clubs interested and Cagliari are the latest to be mentioned with the Serie A side apparently poised to accelerate an attempt to sign the striker.
Football Scotland exclusively revealed Leeds United's interest in Rabbi Matondo and Barry Ferguson reckons Gers should cash in if the offer is right.
He told Go Radio: It may be one you need to cash in. He is not a certain starter. If Leeds United are willing to pay £1.5million-£2million it’s one that Rangers may look to do, because it will bring money in for the manager to go and spend on other areas he feels he needs to strengthen."
