Latest Rangers transfer news as new signing confirmed, target missed and Kenny McLean hope remains

Rangers finally have Hamza Igamane in the door as their fans were able to stop waiting and wondering.

The Ibrox club unveiled the Morocco under-23 striker as their sixth summer signing this afternoon weeks after their interest first emerged and after days of reports the deal was imminent. It's believed Gers have paid around £2million for the versatile forward.

Manager Philippe Clement told the club's website: “I am delighted to welcome Hamza to Rangers and we believe he will be a great asset to our squad. He has a lot of talent and potential and he will bring a fresh presence to our attacking options. We know it will be a big change in culture and a new country for Hamza to adapt to, but as a club we will support him on and off the pitch to settle in here.”

Igamane's countryman Couhaib Driouech will not be joining him in Glasgow, however. The Light Blues were believed to have an interest in the winger as a potential second Moroccan to add to their ranks as he moves on from Excelsior, but he now looks set for PSV after reportedly having a medical with the Dutch giants.

But Kenny McLean may still have a chance of becoming a Ger. The boyhood Rangers fan was being lined up for a move from Norwich but it was claimed in the last couple of days it was a non-starter for financial reasons. His agent then laughed that off, and some chat from the Rangers Review's morning briefing today is that it could still be on for the 32-year-old.

Scott Wright is possibly on his way out of Ibrox with Sheffield Wednesday interested in taking him to the English Championship. Reports today have suggested talks are progressing and it's one that could be wrapped up soon
