Launch date confirmed for new food market
A new food market is nearly ready to open in Harrow town centre.
Construction has been taking place since the beginning of the year to open up Market Place in St Anns Road, Harrow.
The food court, which is designed to promote small or up-and-coming businesses in prime high streets, is set to open on April 6, according to its shopfront advert.
The Harrow Times reported in January that permission was granted for units 80-84 in St Anns Road to introduce a new open-plan food court with ten kiosks.
At the moment the market will open up with eight different vendors.
Surrounding the units is the food court, seating areas and tables and a cocktail bar.
Market Place has already established itself in Hounslow and Vauxhall, and the Harrow branch is said to offer a “diverse food court” with a large selection of restaurant stalls to choose from.
Eye-catching vibrant colours can be seen on the outside, with a sign reading: “Market Place London is bringing you eight of London’s best street food vendors.”
Some of the eateries include Bread Ahead bakery, which can be found in Borough Market and Wembley Park, and other vendors ranging from an Argentinian grill, a Turkish kebab eatery and more.
As part of its opening, a £100 bar tab giveaway is being offered to a lucky winner who takes part in the @Marketplaceharrow Instagram campaign where people like and follow the page as well as tagging three friends.
