Laura Woods shocked by ‘sexy’ Keane analysis in ITV coverage of Man City win
Laura Woods was taken aback by Roy Keane’s analysis of Manchester City during ITV’s coverage of their win over Bristol City on Tuesday.
City cruised to a 3-0 win to secure safe passage into the quarter-finals, with Phil Foden scoring twice before Kevin De Bruyne wrapped up the victory late on.
And Keane drooled over De Bruyne after the game, lauding his all-round performance and his goal in particular.
Speaking on ITV, Keane said: “I love watching him live. It’s the little details he gets right, in terms of his decision making, weight of pass, he’s got a goal in him…he is world class.
“Some of the stuff tonight, this goal, Jack does really well here, the weight of the pass is perfect and this is pure quality. I said when we were watching ‘sexy football’.
“The weight of pass and then when he gets the ball there wasn’t a doubt in my mind that he was going to score. It was like a tap in for him. I love watching him.”
Woods then highlighted Keane’s somewhat surprising use of language, imagining how De Bruyne himself would react.
She replied: “What I enjoy as well, is that Kevin de Bruyne will go home, he’ll turn on the tele, he’ll watch the highlights back and he’ll wonder how Roy Keane described it. I don’t think he would have expected him to say ‘sexy’, but here we are!”

Pep Guardiola was full of praise for Foden after the game, lauding the playmaker not for his goals but his excellent work ethic.
Guardiola said: “I said last week that we don’t have any doubts about Phil.
“The impact of Phil since he has arrived has been flabbergasting. He has been awesome, getting better and better.
“He has struggled a little bit with the ankle, but he doesn’t complain. He wants to train, he wants to play, play with problems.
“But it’s not about the goal he scored in the last game (at Bournemouth), or the two goals he scored today. It’s about how aggressive he is and how he does things.
“He has done it again, his work ethic, the way he trained. Every single action is 100 per cent and at the end it will pay off.”
