Lawal charges Katsina United’s against Rivers United

The Chanji Boys’ midfielder has stressed that the Ikon Allah Boys cannot stop them from grabbing maximum points.

Katsina United midfielder, Tasiu Lawal has spoken glowingly of the desire of the Chanji Boys to beat Rivers United and move away from the relegation zone for good at the end of the first round.

Lawal and his Katsina United side are 15th on the log with 22 points from 18 games but they are not entirely certain of their spot yet with some outstanding games yet to be played involving clubs within and around the relegation zone and the former Niger Tornadoes’ player emphasized that it is best they put their destiny in their own hands by beating the CAF Confederation Cup hopeful on Thursday.

“We know how important the game with Rivers United is to our aspiration to leave the relegation zone without any problem and we have been preparing so well for it knowing that getting the three points will be the ideal way to sign off the first round out of the drop zone,” Lawal told Goal.

“We know that Rivers United will come with all their might having just qualified for the group stage of the CAF Confederation Cup but we shall show them what we have in store for them on Thursday.”
