Without contestable conditions, and better weather scheduled later in the week, contest director Rodrigo Heredia decided to postpone the competition.

"The waves are quite small," Heredia stated. "The forecast shows an increase in swell for the next three days and it looks like tomorrow, Thursday and Friday we should have good conditions, not especially big, but bigger than this and with more consistence. We want to offer surfers the best waves we can, and with today's conditions it doesn't seem fair to send them out, so they'll have a day to relax."
