Cornwall RLFC have confirmed a change in ownership. Eric Perez, once behind the Toronto Wolfpack franchise, has stepped down from the League 1 club, with ownership now in the hands of Ken Stone.

Stone has a wealth of rugby experience throughout both codes of rugby and has a connection to the Cornwall region through his father, who was born in the county. He has played, coached, managed, and been an executive in world rugby, spanning 20 years in the game. He was most recently a coach in the United States at the University of Denver.

Stone has also had previous roles as the University of Gloucestershire as well as the England women’s team. He has worked with the Scotland and Wales student squads and has come up with a ten-year plan for Cornish rugby league, with the side set to compete in League 1 again next year.

Speaking on his takeover, he said: "I would like to thank Eric Perez for bringing professional rugby league to Cornwall. We are looking forward to building on the foundations that have been developed in the last couple of years.

"I can’t wait to get my teeth into this exciting project, with the establishment of a strong foundation key for the club’s success. I have a deep and continued passion for rugby league, along with a proven history of transforming clubs and associated culture. I can’t wait to see my vision take hold for this incredible club and county.

"We’re looking forward to engaging with fans, partners, and the wider local Cornish community. Together, we’ll build a strong, successful club that one and all can be proud of, thus ensuring long-term security and stability. To achieve this, we have devised a comprehensive 10-year strategic plan for the club, with a focus on youth development, along with fan and community engagement, which will positively impact the Duchy."

Cornwall have also confirmed that key partner Sedulo will continue their partnership with the club, while home games will once again be hosted at the Memorial Ground, Penryn. The side open their 2025 League 1 account with two away games against Workington Town and Rochdale Hornets.
