League 1: Crusaders win Welsh derby & Keighley score 96 points

North Wales Crusaders defeated West Wales Raiders 84-4 in the Welsh derby in League 1.

Anthony Murray’s side remain undefeated in their 2022 league campaign, claiming six wins from six.

Matt Reid opened the scoring seven minutes into the clash for North Wales Crusaders, before the side ran in 15 further tries. They sit at the top of the League 1 table.

In the early kick-off, Rochdale Hornets claimed a 50-0 victory over Cornwall RLFC. Former NRL prop Fuifui Moimoi made his 350th career appearance, featuring from the bench for Matt Calland’s Rochdale. Ireland international Gregg McNally crossed for a hat-trick. Team-mates Zac Baker (2), Ben Forster, Ben Killan, Cian Tyrer and Dan Nixon also scoring.

Keighley run in 96 points

Keighley scored 96 points and kept opponents London Skolars scoreless for the biggest win of the afternoon in League 1. It took the Cougars just two minutes to cross for their first points through Mo Agoro. They ran in a total of 17 tries, including four from winger Agoro.

Rhys Lovegrove’s side have won five from five so far in their 2022 campaign, sitting second in the league. London Skolars continue to search for their first win of the season.

Elsewhere, Hunslet claimed a close 22-16 victory over Midlands Hurricanes. Jacob Doyle scored on his Hunslet debut. Alan Kilshaw’s side also crossing through Jack Render and Harvey Whiteley (2). The Hurricanes had threatened a late comeback with a try from Benn Hardcastle, but the visitors held on in the closing minutes.

A delayed kick-off didn’t put off Doncaster from claiming their fourth win of the season. The side saw an attendance of 1,095 for their 16-12 victory over Oldham. Connor Robinson was the difference on the day, scoring a try and kicking two second-half penalty goals for the victory. Robbie Story scoring the other try.
