I-League 2017: Mumbai FC appoint Oscar Bruzon as new head coach to replace the sacked Santosh Kashyap

The draw didn't help the cause of the hosts who are very close to being relegated for the first time in the club's history.

Oscar Bruzon has been appointed as the new head coach of Mumbai FC as the men in yellow look to escape relegation troubles.

Earlier this week, the bottom-placed I-League outfit had sacked Santosh Kashyap following a winless run of twelve games. Kashyap did himself no favours by antagonizing the fans and getting labelled a 'snake' by them.

Bruzon's previous dalliance with the city of Mumbai was when he was the assistant coach of Indian Super League outfit Mumbai City FC, as part of Nicolas Anelka's staff. However, a fallout with the former Chelsea man meant that Bruzon resigned midway through the season.

He then joined RCD Mallorca in the Spanish Liga Segunda in Julylast yearas an assistant to Fernando Vasquez, but a solitary win in six games meant that Vasquez and his staff were asked to pack their bags before the turn of the year.

Bruzon is expected to arrive and meet his charges in the coming few days, with theYellow Brigadehopeful that he's the man to turn around a dismal season which needs a miracle to escape relegation currently.
