I-League 2017 Preview: DSK Shivajians vs Minerva Punjab - Beleaguered Shivajians take on Warriors

DSK Shivajians will put an end to the 2016-17 chapter of I-League on Sunday evening as they welcome newly introduced side Minerva Punjab at the Balewadi Stadium. The Loni based outfit flies back to home soil following a 7-0 annihilation from Albert Roca's Bengaluru FC side. As for Surinder Singh and company, the team from Ludhiana too heads into the contest at Pune following a 3-1 defeat against Kolkata side East Bengal.

The Punekars had a disappointing season having collected 17 points from as many fixtures. Dave Rogers will surely make a handful of changes from the side which was thrashed by The Blues. However, the back four will most likely remain the same with the likes of Kolunji and McFaul operating as centre-backs and Chhetri and Lalrinzuala guarding the either sides of the defence.

As for the visiting side, Surinder Singh and company will look to avoid finishing on the last position in the league after having missed out on a spot in the Federation Cup. The Ludhiana-based side is likely to include  Moinuddin, Kareem Omolaja, Sang Min Kim and Arashpreet Singh in the defence whereas Victor Amobi, David Ngaihte and Manandeep Singh will take charge of the attack.

A win for the hosts will take their points tally to 20 whereas falling prey to the new entrant will mean the Minervans will end the season with 15 points.

Kick-off is at  16:35 IST.
