Pools found themselves 2-0 down after goals from Tom Hopper and David Worrall and although Ryan Noble pegged Bury back with a stunning volley, Cooper's side missed a huge chance to claim a point when Neil Austin slammed his penalty against the bar.
Cooper said: "It was a big game and when things are like they are, it can't get any lower. We missed a penalty that could've got us level and we were refused a penalty before that which looked like a stronger claim.
"There have been a few home truths spoken and we'll just have to wait and see what happens now. It's not good enough and I know that.
"I know my job is in jeopardy and it's not a pleasant feeling, but I just have to see what happens.
"I will have to see what the club will decide and that's not nice for me because of how much I love this club."
