Lee Carsley shows Newcastle United faith with triple shout as Tino Livramento wait comes to an end
All three of Newcastle United's England representatives were handed a start by Lee Carsley in the interim boss' final match in charge on Sunday evening.
Anthony Gordon, Lewis Hall and Tino Livramento were all named in the starting XI to face the Republic of Ireland, with the latter earning his very first cap for the senior side. It comes after the right-back has been involved in all of Carsley's recent squads without playing a single minute.
Livramento knows the former under-21 boss well due to his time in England's youth setup, while he was also at Chelsea during Thomas Tuchel's time in west London - something which bodes well for when the new England boss takes the reins in 2025.

Gordon has been a regular for England in recent months after a disappointing summer at Euro 2024. The winger is another trusted by Carsley as he attempts to make the left-side of the Three Lions' attack his position to lose.
Hall made his first appearance for the national side in the 3-0 win over Greece in midweek. Emerging at half-time, the Newcastle full-back impressed as he backed up his impressive club form on the international stage.
“Amazing for Lewis, amazing for his family,” Newcastle boss Eddie Howe told Newcastle’s official website after Hall's first appearance for the senior team. "Sort of life changing moment really, I think.
"So pleased for him, it’s come at a really age in his career and hopefully there’s many more to come. I thought he did really well when he came on. [It was a] High pressure game as well, it’s what he’s become accustomed to with us. I thought he handled himself really well.”
All three men, along with Nick Pope, will be eyeing regular spots for England when Tuchel names his first squad in the opening months of 2025.
