Liverpool are reported to have informed suitors of the prices they are seeking for unwanted stars Takumi Minamino and Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain this summer.

The Reds are unlikely to do much in the way of transfer business this summer, with more of a focus perhaps on outgoings. Jurgen Klopp’s side enjoyed an excellent 2021/22 campaign and, with more luck, could have been celebrating a quadruple. As it went, they had to make do with just FA Cup and Carabao Cup success.

Much of their focus this summer will likely be on their midfield. They are reportedly looking to freshen up the area with Jordan Henderson, Thiago Alcantara and James Milner all on the wrong side of 30.

That said, Milner is poised to sign a new one-year deal, with the veteran star snubbing three other offers to stay at Anfield.

As for a midfield in, Liverpool have once again been mentioned as suitors for Kalvin Phillips on Monday morning. The Leeds star would cost a fee of around £50m, with Manchester City also strong keen too.

The Reds also remain in the running to sign Aurelien Tchouameni as the France midfielder prepares to leave Monaco. His fee would likely top what it would take to sign Phillips, with the 22-year-old valued at the £68m mark.

And Liverpool may also need to be wary of Sadio Mane and Mohamed Salah’s situations. Mane, in particular, appears to be nearing an Anfield exit with his move likely meaning a replacement will be signed.

And whichever player or players they sign this summer, Liverpool will likely need a hefty sum of money.

As a result, the Reds will likely look to offload some of their fringe stars to help boost their funds. To that end, the likes of Minamino and Oxlade-Chamberlain are reportedly up for sale this summer.

Minamino transfer fee sits right with Leeds

Leeds United have been strongly linked with a move for Minamino. The Japan player scored 10 times in 2021/22, despite making just nine starts.

The Reds are reportedly seeking a fee of around £15m for the Japan star; a fee which will not put Leeds off.

It’s a similar story for Oxlade-Chamberlain, who, with a year left on his deal, is also up for grabs.

He is being linked with moves to Newcastle and West Ham, with both pondering moves.

Their interest in him is likely to be dependent on Jesse Lingard’s, with both clubs are vying to sign the departing Man Utd man.

And both or either could end up moving for Oxlade-Chamberlain if they were to miss out on Lingard.

Pundit backs Liverpool to sell Takumi Minamino, Oxlade-Chamberlain

Pundit Kevin Campbell also reckons Liverpool will welcome the sale of both players.

Assessing their valuations, he told Football Insider: “I think they could get £30million for them both. That is about right.

“Minamino has done pretty well when he has come in. He went on loan [to Southampton] and did alright and has been an important squad member since coming back.

“In regards to Oxlade-Chamberlain, when he has played he has not done too badly. He has just struggled with injuries.

“He has been fit for a period though but hasn’t been given an opportunity to play.

“I think £15million each is about right. They are quality players who have not played a lot of football.

“I’m sure teams will take the chance on them. I have no doubt.”

The time looks right for both players to move on and a move to Elland Road certainly looks right for Takumi Minamino. The former RB Salzburg man knows Jesse Marsch well and would relish the chance to play more regular Premier League football.

Leeds, meanwhile, are closing on the signing of Rasmus Kristensen, with three other deals also reportedly in the works.
