Leeds United options for Blackburn Rovers as scan results and patience needed after injury update
Leeds United boss Daniel Farke says he is hopeful he can call upon Sam Byram for this weekend's trip to Blackburn Rovers, highlighting the defender's importance to his team. Byram opened the scoring for Leeds in the 3-0 victory over Luton Town on Wednesday evening, but then hobbled out the game with a hamstring injury to be replaced by Max Wober on 59 minutes.
Farke has options available to him after Wober's run out against Luton and with Junior Firpo returning to the squad after serving his three-match suspension there is an expectation he will make an immediate return to the side. While that may be the case, the Leeds boss has highlighted Byram's importance to his team.
"Sam has had a scan and we are still waiting for the results. We will make a late decision tomorrow to see if he will be available for us," explained Farke. "We have to take a decision. I would prefer to have him, especially after the last game where he was excellent and not just for his goal.

"His experience and strengthen on set pieces, he is an important player for us and with his experience in the dressing room, so I hope he is available for us."
While Byram remains a doubt to be fit for the Saturday lunchtime kick-off, Leeds have no further injury concerns. One man who is unlikely to force his way into the starting line-up this weekend is Largie Ramazani, who it seems will have to continue a slow process back to the starting line-up after recovering from injury.
Farke added; "Largie was out for several weeks and has only been in team training a few days. I was happy to give him 10 minutes and he showed some glimpses.
"Once he is back to full fitness he is a top class player for us, but he needs some time. He won't be in the starting line-up this week. But he is a good option to have on the bench. Two more days training will help him be ready, but I think for the starting line-up this week it is too soon."
