After three weeks of assessing potential candidates and looking over their options, Leeds United are ready to confirm the signing of a new arrival within the next 24 hours. News could come as soon as this afternoon that former French international Josuha Guilavogui has agreed a deal with the Whites and will go straight into the squad ahead of this weekend's game at Bristol City.

The 34-year-old former Vfl Wolfsburg player, who was capped seven times by France almost 10 years ago, is one of several free agents who were invited to Leeds' Thorp Arch training ground in recent weeks. Having impressed manager Daniel Farke, the experienced veteran has been picked up to provide much-needed cover in a problem area for the club.

Guilavogui has been at Leeds' last two games at Elland Road and has not been hiding himself away, happily stopping for pictures with supporters before and after the games. With Ethan Ampadu and Ilia Gruev long term absentees, Guilavogui provides cover behind the duo of Ao Tanaka and Joe Rothwell, who have impressed of late.

Guilavogui is also able to cover at centre-back if needed, which could also prove important with Joe Rodon one game away from a suspension and Pascal Struijk the only other fit senior option right now.
