Manchester City are reigning champions after beating Liverpool to the finish line in a neck-and-neck 2021/22 title race where a comeback win on the final day of the season against Aston Villa secured a fourth title in five years for Pep Guardiola's side.

Jurgen Klopp's Reds were on course for a quadruple last season but were forced to settle for just an FA Cup and Carabao Cup win and will return trying to win the title again just as they did in 2020.

It was a dramatic season for Chelsea a year ago with Roman Abramovich now replaced by Todd Boehly as owner in west London. He will want an instant return on his hefty investment at Stamford Bridge while Tottenham, back in the Champions League, will want to kick on once more too.

It's not all about the action at the top though with Fulham, Bournemouth and Nottingham Forest promoted to the top tier for 2021/22 and hoping to hold their own against the best English football has to offer and avoid the drop.

So, Leeds' failure to win, coupled with Everton's victory over Bournemouth, sends the Peacocks to the second tier alongside Leicester, who are also relegated despite beating West Ham. Spurs' 4-1 victory was also in vain though, as Aston Villa beating Brighton means they'll be playing in the Europa Conference League next season at Tottenham's expense. What a ride, and for both of these teams, the upcoming summer will see changes aplenty as the clubs look to get back to where they want to be.

In what could prove to be his final appearance for Tottenham, Kane's brace showed just how important he has been to this club all season. The England captain had three shots, all of which were on target, and created one chance from 14 final-third passes. Kane engaged in 12 duels, seven of which were dribbles, and also helped out defensively with three clearances from Leeds corners. He's a hero in north London, and whatever happens in the coming months, there's no denying that Harry Kane is one of the finest strikers in a generation.

Wins for both Everton and Leicester mean the Whites would have been relegated regardless of their result, but that second half performance gave them no chance whatsoever.
