A deal for summer Leeds United target Noa Lang is still there for the making after Fabrizio Romano detailed Club Brugge’s stance on a sale.

The Whites’ forward line has a whole new look this season. Raphinha was sold to Barcelona, while Daniel James left for Fulham on loan.

Replacing them were Luis Sinisterra and Brenden Aaronson and both have started their Premier League careers at Elland Road brightly.

Teenage pair Sonny Perkins and Wilfried Gnonto were also drafted in to shore up the club’s future. Ex-West Ham forward Perkins in particular has caught the eye so far, scoring six in five for the club’s Under-21s.

However, if Leeds had their way, Netherlands international Noa Lang would’ve also been in the mix.

The 23-year-old previously confirmed Leeds tried and failed with three separate bids prior to the latest transfer window.

He emerged as a genuine target to bolster Jesse Marsch’s firepower at the beginning of the summer window. However, a move ultimately failed to materialise with Leeds pre-occupied with Brugge teammate Charles De Ketelaere.

After a protracted transfer saga, De Ketelaere went on to join AC Milan, by which point Leeds had already signed Sinisterra for the wings.

However, according to transfer specialist Fabrizio Romano, Lang remains very much a gettable target.

Speaking on his YouTube channel, Romano confirmed Leeds’ interest alongside unnamed clubs from Italy.

He also stressed that despite Brugge generating around £28m for star forward De Ketelaere, they remain open to doubling down and cashing in on Lang too.

“Noa Lang, a player I really appreciate, I think he’s really underrated,” said Romano.

“It’s true that Brugge already sold Charles de Ketelaere to AC Milan, but Noa Lang was available on the market.

“He will be available in the future transfer windows, so a really important and interesting opportunity.

“He was on the list of Leeds for example, and also some other clubs around Europe were tracking him, especially in Italy.

“But now, Noa Lang is still available on the market, so a missed opportunity.”

Do Leeds need Noa Lang?

Leeds have plenty of options in the attacking areas despite the departures of James and Raphinha.

Joe Gelhardt is developing nicely and competes with Patrick Bamford up front. Sinisterra already looks a shrewd signing, while Aaronson has impressed either on the right or in central areas.

Rodrigo started the season like a house on fire and is finally justifying his £27m price tag.

Crysencio Summerville has been the biggest benefactor of James departing, with the Dutchman getting 30 minutes off the bench last time out against Brentford.

However, the player who would be in direct competition with Lang is Jack Harrison. Both players favour the left wing berth and Harrison is a near-undroppable component of Marsch’s side at present.

As such, a Lang addition would do no harm, though doesn’t appear to be all that necessary right now.

There has been talk of Newcastle going back in for Harrison after seeing two summer bids rejected. However, there is little to suggest Leeds will entertain anything but the highest of offers for the 25-year-old.
