Leicester City make manager decision for Brentford fixture
Leicester City first-team coach Ben Dawson will take charge of the club at Brentford this weekend with Ruud van Nistelrooy’s first game to come next week.
City head to the Gtech Community Stadium on Saturday (3pm) for their first match since sacking Steve Cooper. The club had hoped to have a new permanent manager in charge, but with Van Nistelrooy still not announced, the interim coaching team will be in the dugout in west London.
Dawson, recruited from Newcastle in the summer, has been leading training since the players began their preparations on Tuesday. He has been assisted by set-piece coach Andrew Hughes and goalkeeping coach Danny Alcock, and they will be the trio instructing the team from the touchline at Brentford.

Van Nistelrooy’s appointment as the club’s new manager is thought to be imminent, and so he will be expected to watch on from the stands against the Bees. It will give him a chance to assess his new side ahead of his first game, which will be at home to West Ham next Tuesday night.
Dawson will preview City’s match against Brentford at a pre-match press conference at 10.30am on Friday morning. Thomas Frank’s side have the best home record in the Premier League, with five wins and a draw to their name on their own patch.
City go into the game sitting just one point above the relegation zone. No side has taken fewer points over the past four matches.
