As with the other Official Live Sites around the country Leicester will be served by its big screen throughout London 2012, kicking off with Team GB’s Women’s football match against New Zealand on July 25, two days before the Olympic Opening Ceremony.
The Ceremony will also be broadcast live, as will key action from London as the big screen continues to serve the local community. Latest information about the city, live cultural events and sporting occasions have all been enjoyed by Leicester residents on the big screen in the lead-up to the Games, and it has promoted local talent too.
The Olympic Torch Relay was welcomed enthusiastically just weeks before the start of the Games in early July, giving just a hint at the atmosphere which will welcome those celebrating London 2012 in the Midlands city.
