Leigh set to deliver another night of incredible entertainment as Beaumont confirms more pre-match acts
Derek Beaumont has confirmed more pre-match entertainment ahead of Leigh’s next home match against St Helens in Round Four on Friday, March 10.
Following the 40-minute performance from Scouting for Girls on their opening day, Leigh owner Beaumont has confirmed that T’Pau will be their next headline act to provide pre-match entertainment.
The English pop band, formed in Shrewsbury, had a string of Top 40 hits in the UK during the late 1980s and early 1990s. Notable songs include China in Your Hand, Heart and Soul and Valentine.
The Leopards travel to Hull KR this Friday, before hosting world champions St Helens the following week for their second home match of 2023.
Beaumont also teased further pre-match shows on his social media, admitting negotiations with other artists are ongoing.
Derek Beaumont putting on a show
The newly-promoted side put on a show to remember for their return to Super League during the opening weekend of action.
Rebranding to Leopards during the off-season, Beaumont put his side in the limelight once again with best-ever pre-match entertainment to be seen in Super League (so far!).
English pop band Scouting for Girls delivered a 40-minute set inside the Leigh Sports Village ahead of the town’s return to the top flight. Adrian Lam’s side went on to fall short against Salford.
The Scouting for Girls setlist included hits Heartbeat, I Wish I was James Bond, This Ain’t a Love Song and Elvis Ain’t Dead in front of a packed North Stand.
The three-man band even returned for two more songs at half-time, with She’s so Lovely performed live on Sky Sports ahead of kick-off.
The pitch also saw a performance from aerial and fire group, The Fuel Girls, while also unveiling the club’s new mascot, Leeto. And just when you thought the pre-match show was over, there was also an impressive firework display from behind the stadium.
